The Creative Leader – What To Do When the Way’s Not Clear from Ben Stone on Vimeo.
I love Michael too much. I think I have a man crush. :)
Sean
Last seen expounding extensively on things I know little of.
Thanks for your encouraging and gracious post of my breakout The Creative Leader.
I continue to be amazed and thankful that I can be part of a conversation with you Sean, learn from you, be challenged by your thinking and yet (to date) never have met you in person. I want to change that!
FYI, I did my first half-day The Creative Leader workshop this past week. It went well. I learned a lot and intend to keep improving it and offering it along with a keynote version.
Let me know how I can help or encourage you along the way!
Keep creating...I know you will,
Mike

Very cool! I'd never heard of Cynefin before, so I definitely appreciate learning about it. My one "complaint" (and I use that term very loosely) is that this presentation seems to me to be more about Cynefin than it is about creative leadership. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but I kept thinking it was going to get into the, "So here's how you apply Cynefin to be a creative leader" I guess I was thinking the title was descriptive of the video?
In any case, I really like this kind of stuff, so here's my attempt to give back. If you guys like Cynefin, you might also like Dan Roam's book, "Unfolding the Napkin" => http://tinyurl.com/6ek2fow This book is about how to solve problems using pictures (and thus accessing more brainpower than by just using words) It takes the "A picture is worth a thousand words" concept, and uses it as leverage to solve problems. Very cool.
Again, thanks for sharing. Mike, I'd really like to get some of that resource material you were talking about, if that'd be possible? I'm guessing that Sean can provide you with my e-mail address?

Robert, great to hear from you via email today. And thanks for adding your feedback.
You're right, this isn't a "how to" presentation as much as it is my attempt to make the case for creativity as a "must have" leadership competency.
My audience was made up of senior HR professionals and I was trying to make the "creative leadership" argument.
Thanks for referencing Dan Roam's book. I've read it several times and is very helpful. I'm still learning how to apply his excellent visual problem solving insights.
I would also recommend Gamestorming to you. The introduction is worth the price of the book and more! Dave Gray and his fellow authors have articulated a facilitation model than any creative leader can use. Here's a post I wrote re:Gamestorming. See what you think:

Thanks again Robert for enlarging the conversation. Thanks Sean for creating the space for the conversation...oh the beauty of the web!
Keep creating...surprising relevance,
Mike
