Every company says their people matter.
But would your company change their homepage to mark the death of someone?Even if it meant you would see a SIGNIFICANT drop in sales?
Would you have the guts?
Everywhere I have worked, management always refers to "us" as a "family".
And I've often questioned the reality behind the sentiment.
Today, Apple proved to the world that their people matter.
If I was an Apple employee, I'd be walking a bit taller today.
I completely agree, and am very impressed.
I've always felt that way too. Like, quit the BS about being family. I have a family, thanks.
The thing is, companies want to give things like high fives or birthday cake day instead of figuring out their what people want
In this case, they did it right.

Amen. Thanks for sharing this amazing piece. It is said that Apple does not have a Social Media policy etc etc. With gestures like these they have shown to be truly social....human

I find Apple to be such an intriguing brand as they defy "open" and yet are so critical to the "open" movement. Fascinating.
